"Animal Nature" Show at Goose Creek Studio
During the month of October, Goose Creek Studio will be featuring wildlife photography by Debi Farley and Paul McCroskey and animal sculpture by Lori Stetson in an exhibit titled "Animal Nature." Farley and McCroskey travel around the world capturing unique images of wildlife in their natural habitat. "Animal Nature" features shots from Africa and Alaska. For this exhibit, Stetson has created quirky creatures from wire and pipe cleaners. A centerpiece of the show will be her nearly six-foot tall animal totem pole with critter stacked on top of critter.
An opening reception with the artist will be held during 2nd Friday in Bedford, October 13, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Susan Miller Bradbury is a quiet, unassuming Roanoke, Virginia native who enjoys capturing the events of life. She especially appreciates taking her memories captive and placing them on the canvas. Her greatest love is utilizing provocative lighting and/or expressive situations to capture the viewer’s heart. Susan graduated from Radford University with a BA in Graphic Arts as well as a minor in French. Later in life, she discovered a love for portraiture and went on to take classes from many well-known instructors such as Daniel Greene, Paul McCormack, Vera Dickerson, Lee Boynton and Debbie Gualco. She has illustrated several published books and is in the process of illustrating others.

The Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce hosts first annual Career & Technical Expo. The Career & Technical Expo provides a balanced exhibition of the industries which make up our region. It is our belief that creating career ready graduates, wea re paving the way for our youth to contribute to the economic sustainability of our region.
The goal of the Expo is to educate students about the variety of career opportunities in the region and the skills needed to acquire those jobs. It is a great opportunity for businesses to connect with the future workforce to encourage them now to acquire the skills they will need to be successful in the industry later. Working with middle school students nearing high school provides you an opportunity to help sustain future economic stability while giving student the chance to explore career choices available in our region.
